Parts of the Northland passed the 80-degree mark on Friday, and some parts of southern Minnesota hit 90 on a very summer-like day… that happened to fall in October.
The National Weather Service reported several record highs in central and southern Minnesota, including:
- Mankato – 90 degrees (old record 85)
- Redwood Falls – 90 (85)
- Minneapolis-St. Paul airport – 87 (84)
- Alexandria – 84 (76)
- St. Cloud – 84 (82)
Here in the Northland we didn’t see record highs on Friday, but a number of towns hit 80 degrees or higher, including:
- Brainerd- 84 degrees
- Bigfork – 81
- Grand Rapids – 81
- Pine River – 81
- Aitkin – 81
- Hinckley – 81
- Hibbing – 80
- Hayward – 80
- Siren – 80
The Duluth International Airport hit 77 degrees; the record for Friday is 82. Sky Harbor had a high of 75, and Superior reached 79.
